      Founded in September 1999, Jo lle Delbourgo Associates is a boutique literary management and publishing consulting company based in Montclair, New Jersey, just 15 miles from the heart of New York City. The agency is dedicated to identifying new and exciting voices and innovative ideas. We represent a broad range of fiction and nonfiction authors. The hallmark of the agency is quality, not quantity. JDA is especially drawn to books that introduce fresh ideas and cutting-edge research, that stretch the envelope or turn the current wisdom or knowledge about a particular subject on its head. The agency actively seeks authors with an expertise in science, history, medicine and health, current affairs, psychology, sociology, business and finance, self-empowerment, contemporary issues, lifestyle, and parenting. We are drawn to authors who are pioneers in their fields, leaders and fearless thinkers, and writers who make uncommon connections between disciplines. JDA also looks for writers who see the world through an uncommon lens or can transport the reader to new worlds. We cultivate a selective list of authors of theme-based memoir, strong narrative nonfiction, literary fiction, quality commercial fiction and young adult fiction. In both memoir and fiction, we seek out distinctive and compelling stories, fresh voices and superb writing. JDA is a full-service agency. We provide editorial and marketing consultations and services for selected clients. A team of dedicated editors is available to help authors create and polish proposals and manuscripts. An in-house publicist can help to guide an author in developing an effective publicity and marketing strategy to enhance the efforts of the publishing house. Through a network of sub-agents around the world and co-agents in film and television, the agency strives to bring an author's work to readers throughout the world and in as many formats as possible.
