Since 1984, the Union County Community Shelter has provided food and shelter to the hungry and homeless of Union County, NC. We are located in downtown Monroe, North Carolina. As a homeless shelter, we provide homeless assistance and programs for the homeless to help them achieve self sufficiency. We supply services such as a food bank, a soup kitchen, a donations center, three daily meals and more. We act as a donation center and gratefully accept any food donations or clothing donations. We also provide rapid re-housing services. As a non-profit organization, volunteer opportunities are always available and needed. Community members are encouraged to volunteer and serve food in our soup kitchen and help in other areas of the Union County Community Homeless shelter.
