Island City Dray was founded in 1922 with a team of horses and wagon (DRAY). In 1954, Ernie, Bud and Dick Bowman purchased the business. In the 1950's, most of the business consisted of hauling freight, camp baggage furniture moving, unloading gondolas of coal, etc. In the 1960's, Most of their efforts were devoted to Sand & Gravel, Excavating, and other Trucking. In the Early 1970's, Snow plowing was included as an additional service, and in 1974, installations of septic systems were added to the list of company's services as well.Today, Our company employs (9) Full-time and (3) Part-time employees. We have radio-dispatched equipment, which enables us to provide better service to our customers.Our office hours are Monday - Friday:November 1st through April 30th - 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM May 1st through October 31st - 7 AM to 4:30 PM Our office is closed on Saturdays, however we do meet with customers on Saturday mornings for estimates.We do take pride in & stand behind our work. We do return phone calls!
