My family and I just moved to the area and are literally within walking distance of your practice. You came highly recommended by our landlord so I stopped in to see if I could get some information about registering all of us (2 adults and our children - 3 & 5 yrs of age) with your facility as our primary care. Previously we used Patient First but in the state of Pennsylvania, they are not considered primary care. Well, I regret to inform you that due to your representative at the front counter, a stout young lady with long brown hair and wearing glasses, maybe about 5' - 5'4", I will NOT be considering your location to care for my family. I kindly waited for the window to be clear so I may approach and ask a simple question regarding paperwork to take with me so I may return it later to register with the facility. I was quickly dismissed, told to sign in. "I just have to ask a question." She finally made eye contact with me and talked to me like I was some child, gesturing to the sign in sheet "This (making a circling motion above the sheet) is like waiting in line." she said in a very slow speech as if I did not have the mental capacity to comprehend such a thing. I have worked in customer service for 20+ years, front desk, managerial, etc. While if you are there for a service yes you may have to sign in but someone should not be made to feel like they are a hindrance for wanting to ask a simple question. I would welcome a potential client that would want to get the appropriate paperwork ahead of time so that they can be in your system. I would think that would be the case. It wasn't that I was there to be seen, I just wanted to get some information to get it started for the future. The place was by no means busy. There were 3 adults and 1 teen in the waiting area that had already been seen and no names pending on the sheet, but my simple question was immediately dismissed.

Maybe it was getting near lunch time for your representatives and they didn't want to be bothered with me. Maybe they just didn't feel like providing customer service to a potential client. We may never know, but you will know that this experience will be shared among the other parents in my neighborhood as well as those of my daughter's school. Parents look for kind, caring facilities to see to their children and if this is how you treat people who could bring you more business, then so be it. While I know medicine is about caring for and treating patients, it is always about the bottom dollar and how much continued revenue your existing clients bring in as well as how you grow your business with new ones. Your representative just destroyed that new growth.
