BEWARE: Grievance filed aganist this attorney/law firm. I Hired Dale Shell in August 2016 for a family law case concerning my kids. First off, Mrs. Shell stated in the consultation that she does not do refunds, which really gave me doubt but with little time before my court date I really didn't have any other option. In October 2016 my ex and I agreed out of court on the terms and conditions. I signed the agreement that same month. After 7 months (May 2017) of not receiving my official court papers showing they have been filed in to the court, I called to request a copy. The aid set up a conference call with the attorney for some reason, I never got the call. I called later that day and was told I was supposed to call them. Very unprofessional IMO. A week later I get a call from their aid saying they sent the papers to the other opposing party's attorney 2 months ago and were still waiting on the other party to amend a few changes (adding only about 4 sentences to the order) and send the papers back to them. They seemed to be stalling which was a detriment to me because me ex went against our agreement and I had no recourse since they had not been filed in to court.They never mentioned what they were going to do to resolve the issue, they just said if I have any questions to call them back. I filed a grievance with the Texas State Bar that same night they left that voicemail becasue it was clear to me that they were working in favor of my ex as she went to school with her lawyer's daughter, and her lawyer and mine since it is such a small community I'm sure were buddy-buddy. Otherwise, why let the other party stall for 7 months without requesting a hearing to make them move their butts and do what only took ten minutes? For all I know they were sitting on the papers with no intent to file. I called my lawyer the following morning and asked her to request a hearing and also informed them of the grievance I filed against them with the Texas State Bar. Not more than 10 minutes later I get a call back saying they had recieved the papers!! Ok, so it took only ten minutes for them to get done what took 7 months and seemed to have no care if I had not of filed that grievance. I am still considering further action aganst them. Do not hire these guys, or anyone in Marble Falls/Burnet, they all know each other and do what they think is best, not what their client wants. STAY AWAY!!!
