The Ontario Local School District serves the community of Ontario in Richland County, Ohio. Ontario is situated in the Mansfield area with easy access to Cleveland and Columbus We serve approximately 1,714 students in two building complexes: Stingel Primary houses preschool through grade two, in its Primary wing and grades three through five, in its Intermediate wing, Ontario Middle School houses grades six through 8, and Ontario High School has grades nine through 12. We are also affiliated with the Pioneer Career and Technology Center. All of the district's buildings are accredited by the State of Ohio, and the high school is accredited by the North Central Association of Schools and Colleges. The Ontario Schools strive to provide students with opportunities in both the academic and extra-curricular areas. A continuously upgraded curriculum offers students opportunities to develop effective communication skills, thinking skills, and problem-solving skills. Technology and the fine arts are provided as distinct offerings and integrated into other studies. The District is extremely proud of its Pre-school and Latch Key programs, both which have served as early models for other districts. The District recently completed a twenty-one million dollar expansion and renovation projected that constructed a new middle school, an addition and renovation to the current high school, and included an addition and renovation to the Stingel building.
