I love Kody kothmann. He has taken care of my dogs for over 12 years!! I have never had a bad experience in his office. He saved my Pitt bull when she had to have an emergency hysterectomy!!!! And explained everything to us.. Yes, he does deal with larger animals. Horses and cows and such, but he has the kindest heart I have ever known for a vet. Not expensive!! I won't trust anyone else!!!!

Dr.Kody has always been great with our pets. He really cares about your animals and is not just trying to make money. He will not expect you to bring them in for unnecessary procedures like a lot of other vets. He does what needs to be done and doesn't charge you an arm and a leg to do it.

In 2010 my dog had cancer and we had been taking it to another vet. They insisted that they had to do a lot of blood work and testing before my 10 year old dog could go into surgery. After 6 weeks of blood testing and over $800 dollars I was ready to try somewhere else. I came to Caprock Vet Clinic and Dr Kothmann told me that it was defiantly cancer and quoted me $375 to remove the growth. he also warned me that with the dogs age it might not survive the surgery. I decided to go ahead with the surgery and my dog made it through the surgery with out any problems. Now three years later it was time to put him down and Dr Kothmann was very understanding and helpful with this painful process. I recommend him to anyone looking for a good vet that is very well priced.

He is the GREATEST vet we have ever had. When my dachshund was a puppie she had parvo and lost 10% of her body weight. Before we went to Kody we took her to the Emergency Vet on 34th and when they told us they wanted $400 dollars or they were going to put her to sleep. We ended up paying them and they gave her medicine and made it worse. So then we took my little girl to Kody. He made her better and even took her home to keep an eye out on her. Today 4/7/13 her legs gave out. She can't walk but she's trying to. We took her to Kody on his off day. He was very nice in helping her. Apparently a disk in her back burst. He gave her some antibiotic and said that there is a 90% chance that it will work. He has done this before specialty with dachshunds. I love Kody soo much for helping my baby.

I took my two male cats to this clinic to get them neutered. I have had other male cats neutered so I thought I knew what to expect ... the end result was extremely traumatic for me and my two children. Our cats were given back to us covered in their own excrement - stinking - and still bleeding. Do not expect these people to actually CARE for your animals. The savings in cost was not worth the end result.

We had our pit bull pups ears cropped by Dr Kothmann and gave us his advice on ear care and regular shot schedule (inwhich we took). The ears turned out great with no problems in what the least and have had a lot of compliments on our pup's ears and have even asked who did them. I have been recommending Dr Kothmann to family and friends. I have no complaints, the doctor knows his business!

I have had nothing but good experiences at Caprock vet. their prices are very reasonable and they don't try to sell you something you don't need.

I have used Dr. Kothmann for my pets for the last 23 years. He has been great! I had a puppy with parvo and worms. He did what he could, and told me some optional treatment. He let me know he couldn't guarantee it would work. I took the puppy home and cared for it. It was fine. A few years later, we took her to him to get spayed, and he immediately recognized her and called her miracle dog. He is an excellent vet and cares about his patients, and their owners.

I WON'T BE GOING BACK! I took my dog in to get looked at because he was bleeding from his back leg. I had the guy look at my dogs leg and his exact quote was "I have never seen anything like that before!" So I asked him what he would recommend doing. He said the best thing is to do an X-ray of the leg to see if there was any objects stuck inside but he did not have time to do the X-ray today. But, he said he could give him a series of antibotics shots and hope for the best. He quickly written up a $200 quote to get started and that didn't even include the X-rays. I ask him if he could do some type of skin testing to make sure what it was before giving my dog antibotics. He said that he does not do any type of testing and just goes by his experience. JUST BEWARE! Just because the office visit is $18, you might not be getting the best advice for your pet and ending paying alot of money to have him inject whatever into your pet before knowing what the real problem is.Too RISKY for my dog!
