I'm surprised to find Critter ...

I'm surprised to find Critter Control included on an animal no-kill list. When squirrels had chewed their way into my house, I interviewed them to help me deal with the problem. My primary question to everyone I talked to was, "Do you destroy the animals you capture?" The representative from Critter Control assured me that the squirrels would not be destroyed and stated that they had somewhere safe to take them.

Later, I reccommentded them to a friend with a similar problem. The individual who did the actual animal capture told her that Critter Control does, in fact, destroy the animals. He went on to say that sometimes a co-worker took the corpses to his father who used them as fertilizer.

I don't know if that last part is true, but when I confronted Critter Control, they denied telling me that the animals would be relocated. When I insisted that their salesman had assured me the animals would be relocated, I was informed that they were legally required to destroy the animals they caught and questioned my recollection of the discussion.

So, buyer beware! I am positive I was told the animals would be relocated because it was my main concern, and I specifically asked the question of everyone I interviewed. If Critter Control tells you they do not destroy the animals they capture, I reccommend you not believe them. My personal experience and that of my friend is that they do destroy them.
