The staff and the doctors are very kind and helpful. I have to say that if you have a limited income and have an animal with an illness which is unknown they seem to want to turn to the most expensive test first. In my dogs case, a 12 year old dog with a heart murmur, they wanted to run and echo cardiogram. I don't have that kind of money for a diagnostic test for my love muffin. They did a blood test and found that she had Lyme disease and put her on a 1 month round of antibiotics. She started acting very ill again and I took her to another vet who said that they reccomend a three month round. We will see if that helps her. As for the heart murmur, there will be no extremely expensive tests in my elderly dogs future.

I took my dog to this vet upon the advise of a neighbor who said they had good luck there. The first time I took him was just to establish care. This was in May. Last week when I went to pick up heartworm and flea meds they told me that my dog had never been seen there. Then they told me his file was missing. Next they said that he had been put in the system twice. Also, I have been waiting for a call back from the vet who saw my dog in May since July 1. I took him in again today. They basically charged me $50.00 for an estimate of what it would cost for all the tests they'd like to run. I tried to tell them that I'm disabled and on a fixed income and that this was my rent money I was spending and that I couldn't afford the tests. The vet said that she had no idea at all what could be wrong him and that these tests were the only way to diagnose him. She also HUNG MY DOG IN MIDAIR BY HIS LEASH during the appointment. So, I'm looking for a new vet now. Bad, bad experience!!!

I just moved to the area and went there at the referral of the emergency clinic (who has the best vet ever, by the way). Not only did I never meet the vet working on my cat, they did not seem to have either his or my best interest at heart. I told them I was unemployed and could not afford any unnecessary tests or procedures, but chose to perform multiple ones without my approval. He wasn't getting any better, yet instead of offering suggestions of what to do next, the vet wanted to take the "wait and see" approach which would add onto the cost due to boarding and more pain reliever. When they refused my request to make a definite suggestion for his future, I decided to take him elsewhere, which they were not too happy about.

All the staff, especially Dr. Ruth Burgess and Ginny, have the animals' best interest at heart. A soft voice and gentle touch help to soothe a trembling pet and also re-assure an anxious ower! They also have all the diagnostic equipment in-house, so there is no need to make trips out of town and wait for results. As owners of 3 cats and 1 dog (all of them are like our children), we wouldn't go anywhere else.

Notably good service experience

They really seem to care about the animals in their care. They remember pets names and preferences and have the best groomer in the business (Mike).
