Common Ties Mental Health Services is a non profit 501c3 community mental health agency in Lewiston since 1985. One of the things we are doing is helping adults with a mental health diagnosis return to the workforce. We have been successful at helping individuals get the support and resources they need to get meaningful jobs, but one thing that isnt available is a Ride to Work. Our Motorcycle Charity Run, in collaboration with the Ridin Steel TV Show, is scheduled for June 29, 2013. The ride is. scheduled to be taped and aired on the Ridin Steel TV Show and will benefit adults in recovery from a mental illness who are on the path to return to employment by offerring bus passes, taxis, gas money, or bicycles for transportation to a job interview or to work until their paychecks come in so they can start a job and get back on their feet to support themselves. People want to work and we have an opportunity to do something to help them be productive members of our workforce and become more independent and self sufficient. 100% of the proceeds will go directly toward helping individuals. No administration fees will be collected. This is a DONATION ONLY event starting at 12 Bates Street Lewiston and ending at The Water Street Grill in Gardiner where there will be music provided by the "Spice Weasels", vendors, Melita the Cariacture Artist, Raffles, $5 hamburger/hot dog baskets and lots more to do. Come join us in the ride up Rte 4 to Livermore Falls: Pike Corner Variety to gas up then on to Water Street Grill. Or if you don't ride all are welcome to come join us at the Grill there will be lots going on, good food, good people and good fun, all are welcome.
