Lee Vining, originally named Lake View, is situated at the junction of Highway 395 and State Highway 120, on the slopes overlooking majestic Mono Lake. This popular Mono County community is centrally located in a recreational paradise. The region is known as the "Gateway to Yosemite" and is also a wonderfully convenient, overnight stop between Southern California and the Reno-Tahoe region.   • The lodge is midway between Los Angeles and the Reno- Tahoe area on the southside of Lee Vining along Highway 395. It is next to the Mono Market and across the street from Bell's Sporting Goods. Family style restaurants are closeby along with a number of gift stores and specialty shops. The Chamber of Commerce and Mono Lake Committee's Visitors Center are just down the street. The Old House School Museum is a short four block walk.
