Christopher Willett is a Bucks County,PA painter and gallery owner. He has a family lineage dating back to ancestors who arrived in this country aboard the Mayflower and Victory, settling in Plymouth. In more recent history Willett artisans became known for their designs and beautiful works in stained glass that adorn the Bryn Athyn Cathedral in Bryn Athyn, PA. among others. He is a descendant of famed artist Edward Hicks known for his work Peaceable Kingdom. Willett paints in the tradition of the Bucks County Impressionists. He paints in oil and watercolor. Compared to Edward Redfield both in subject and in style, Willett's paintings capture the villages and landscapes of Bucks County, PA. His early work is influenced by his friend and mentor,the late Andrew Wyeth. He is particularly known for his night snow scenes as well as his Native American paintings. Working from his studios in Lahaska and Plumsteadville, Chris captures the beauty and simplicity of an earlier time-horse drawn carriages, families working together, villages and farms, friends walking together. Chris attended Hartnell University and Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art.He served in the U.S. Navy for six years aboard an aircraft and is a decorated veteran. His work is in corporate, museums and private collections.
