Terrible Service - I paid $825 for some minor restoration on an antique couch back on 7-19-07. It is now 2-2-09 and I cannot get my couch back! Whenever I call or email; I just get excuses as to why he cannot finish the project. I strongly recommend not pre-paying! Only pay upon return and completion of the project. This is only one piece of several we are having problems with getting back.

Buyer Beware

In 2005 I contacted Deckards Refinishing to find out if they could refinish a Hoosier cabinet that I owned. This was a Hoosier cabinet that had two 7 foot storage cabinets, one on the right and the other on the left. In 1989 I bought this cabinet and stripped and painted it myself. This cabinet was built approximately in 1929 in Frankfort Indiana. In August of 2005 I contacted the owner of Deckards woodcrafters to get the cabinet stripped and painted. At this time the owner told me that there was a waiting list and that I would have to make a down payment. He called me in September and picked up the cabinet. In the following two and a half months I initated contact two times to check on the progress. Progress at the best was minimal. On the second calll I was told that the cabinet would be done by Chrismas. He said if it was not finished, either he would be out of business or he wasn't doing his job. I called on December 27 and told him I wanted to pick up the cabinet. It was only 20 percent finished. I rented a U-Haul and picked up the unfinished cabinet. He charged us the full price, plus 20 dollars. This cabinet was unfinished, un-painted, and in pieces. I paid because this cabinet meant alot to us and I just wanted to get it out of there. Don't let my bad experience become yours.
