This is my second time staying here and it will be my last!!!!!!!!!!!!!I too bad I can't put my whole issues they are horrable go on. Yelp and read about their issues you will be shocked but it is all true they need to clean house and get ride of this crew

Tried calling several times and their lazy staff just hangs up on me. If this is how they treat future potential customers, I don't want to know how they treat current customers.

Nice clean motel however, it has very little parking. Even the parking spaces are small as some cars were taking up two parking spots! Need to switch entrance doors to swing open or motion open because those big chinese doors are heavy to push open to the side!!!

PLEASE!!! I BEG EVERYONE DO NOT GO TO THE TRAVELODGE IN LA MESA CA ON UNIVERSITY. THEY WILL SCREW YOU OVER 100%. I PRE PAID ONLINE ON CHEAP TICKETS.COM, WELL WHEN I GET TO MY CHECKIN DATE 05/29/10 4:00 PM THE AGENT AT THE COUNTER WAS VERY RUDE AND SHORT! HE ASKED ME FOR A 250 DOLLAR SECURITY HOLD AND WOULD NOT EXPLAIN TO ME WHY... I THEN BEGAN TO GET ANGRY BEACUSE THIS IS THE WORST CUST SERVICE EXPERIENCE I EVER HAD IN MY LIFE! HE THEN PUSHED MY PAPERWORK TO THE SIDE WITHOUT SAYIN ANYTHING. I CALLED CHEAP TICKETS AND TOLD THEM ABOUT MY EXPERINCE AND THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO BESIDES REFUND MY MONEY WITHIN 5 DAYS! WHAT A INCONVENIENCE! I THEN CALLED THE POLICE AND THE DISPATCHER APOLOGIZED AND TOLD ME THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME AT THIS TRAVELODGE. WHEN THE OFFICER CAME OUT HE SAID THIS HAPPENS EVERYDAY AND THEY ARE THE RUDEST IN LA MESA, BUT THEY COULD REFUSE SERVICE AT ANYTIME. SO NEEDLESS TO SAY I HAD TO FIND ANOTHER HOTEL, I WAS OUT 125 DOLLARS FOR MY TRIP AND MY WHOLE VACATION WAS SCREWED DUE TO MY EXPERIENCE AT THE TRAVELODGE!

My husband and I were going to a memorial service in La Mesa, CA, and wanted a clean, inexpensive motel to stay in without any extras because we'd just be sleeping there (not hanging around in the motel). Based on positive reviews of the Travel Lodge on University Street in La Mesa that we found on other reviewing websites, we picked that motel. We were very satisfied. The room was clean and pleasant -- and included a small fridge and microwave. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. When we checked out and asked them to print our boarding passes from our airline's website, they went right to it. When they couldn't find a listing for me, they called the airline's internet telephone help, learned that I had given them the name of the wrong airline, went to the right airline's website, entered the info, and printed out the boarding passes, all with a smile and a great deal of pleasantness. Am I impressed! The free breakfasts they serve are very good, including waffles, and pastries that are a cut above the usual free pastries one finds as less expensive motels. The hallways in the motel have an institutional look, but the rooms were fine. All in all, I'd rate this Travel Lodge a 5+ star experience.
