Steven Marking follows up his Tribute to Frank Sinatra (see review at http://my.rivervalleyvoice.com/post/TerryRindfleisch/blog/marking_sensational_in_sinatra_show.html) with his updated multimedia concert Ive Known Rivers on Saturday, November 6 at 7:00 PM. The Rivers concert will be at The Cargill Room at the Waterfront, 328 Front Street South in LaCrosse. Valet parking will be available for this event. The program features music from classical art song to pop and show tunes, all with photos and video projected while he sings songs about the river and things we experience on the river. Some songs on the program include Shall We Gather at the River, Up a Lazy River, Moon River and Ol Man River. My goal is to bring the river into the concert hall, with a great variety of styles of music and some great photos and video that people who know the river will recognize and everyone will appreciate. Marking will be accompanied by Nancy Allen on Piano, Paul Leithold on Bass, Paul Erickson on Guitar and Banjo, and Josh Shively on Drums. Tickets are $18 during October and $20 in November and can be bought at Leithold Music (116 4th Street South in LaCrosse, 784-7555) and Blue Cup Coffee House (Holmen Square Mall 526-6177) or at the door if the event has not sold out.
