Since 1969 Peck's Flooring America has been the premier provider of every type of flooring. Free design and decorating and custom installations. Peck's Floor Covering was founded in 1969 by Ron Peck and his wife, Bonnie. At that time, Ron had been an installer for many years, and they opened a storefront on Standish Ave in North Plymouth, with Ron doing estimating and managing the installers, while Bonnie concentrated on sales and bookkeeping. The company quickly established a reputation for quality work, and sales grew steadily for many years primarily through referrals and repeat business. In 1985, I was hired as store manager, taking on the responsibilities of Advertising/Marketing, Merchandising, Sales, Purchasing, and anything else that needed to be done. By 1997, I realized that with the growth of home centers and other competitors, we would need to make some changes in order to survive, remain competitive, and grow the business. In that year I made 2 major changes. 1st, I joined a national flooring buying group, America's Carpet Gallery, which at the time had around 100 member stores in 22 states. Mine was the first store in N.E., and I renamed the company Peck's America's Carpet Gallery. We remained an independent, locally owned company. Because a buying group negotiates pricing with manufactures, they can drive costs down for all their member stores. The America's Carpet Gallery group has since been bought out by the worlds' largest floor covering buying group, and renamed Flooring America. This brings the total membership to slightly over 600, with stores in all 50 states and Canada, and a combined total annual sales volume of around 1.5 billion dollars. That is serious buying clout, and the foundation of what I like to call "PECK-anomics". The 2nd. change I made was to move the store to its present site in Kingston, in what had been Grossman's contractor sales building. We took a run-down former lumberyard office, and transformed it into a bright, modern, state of the art, flooring showplace. The store has over 4,000sf. of showroom space, along with 4,000sf. of warehouse. In May of 2003, the Pecks retired, and I took over full ownership of the company. OK, enough history, now I want to talk about what sets us apart from the competition. Why should anyone choose Peck's over all the other places they can buy flooring? Reputation! For nearly 40 years, Peck's Flooring has enjoyed a reputation second to none. Everyone here knows that a good reputation, whether it be yours or your business' is earned. I strive every day to nurture and protect both my reputation, and the reputation of my business. I value the relationships I forge in both my professional and personal lives, and my business is a reflection of me. The trust my customers place in my business is sacred to me, and I truly strive to satisfy all of my customers. Although I know that nobody is perfect, it doesn't stop me from trying. I am proud to say, that over 90% of our customers are either repeat customers, or referred to us by other satisfied customers. You can trust, if you refer someone to Peck's, that they will be treated with respect, and that they will love the completed job. I stake my reputation on it. People - A business is all about people. I consider each and every member of my staff to be a member of my extended family. They share the same high standards of integrity and values that I hold. I know that each of them feels vested in the business, and strives to treat every customer the way they themselves would like to be treated. I know that I have the most qualified staff in the area. In fact, most of my staff has more experience in the flooring business than I do. Probably the most important thing that sets us apart from the competition is our installers. We have the finest installers in the area, most of whom have worked at Pecks for many years. They are all gifted in their chosen craft, take pride in th
