About Roosevelt High School This is Roosevelt High School! Home of the Rough Riders! Roosevelt High School is located at 616 North 2nd Street in Johnstown, Colorado. The building houses grades 9 through 12 and served approximately 550 students in 2005-06. Founded in 1963, Roosevelt High School draws together the communities of Milliken and Johnstown. The original structure opened in 1968. In 1996, plans for an addition were made. Additional classrooms were built along with an auditorium. During the 2004 school year, another set of classrooms were added along with space for music, health, wrestling, weights, and updated locker rooms. Roosevelt High Schoolbs namesake was the twenty-sixth president of the United States. Teddybs Rough Riders serve as the schoolbs mascot. Our colors are black and white with red trim. The faculty is comprised of highly qualified teaching professionals, some with years of instructional experience in their chosen fields. Above and beyond a set of customary credentials, many staff members own graduate degrees along with other additional endorsements, certificates, and specialized qualifications. Roosevelt High School embraces all cultures. Our students form a cohesive melting pot of togetherness and a sense of belonging. A number of former graduates are staff members. Our top students earn scholarships and thrive in college, although everyone is treated as an individual and urged to move toward their goals in life. Visitors are welcome at any time, but they must check in through the front office. Our faculty is eager to work with you. Communication is a key to excellence. We consider parent volunteers to be valuable resources. Mission Statement The mission of Roosevelt High School, with our community (Re5J), is dedicated to provide all students a challenging academic program in an atmosphere that will provide students the opportunity to become life-long learners.
