This company is great! I would recommend them to anyone. Our unit went out over the labor day holiday but as soon as everyone opened back up we called Barry H&A and some other companies but Barrys came out right away and gave us an estimate and they were by far cheaper than most of the other places. Barrys came out on a Wednesday and installed the next day. They were very quick, friendly, and had a great price! The owner even stopped by to check and see if I was satisfied and explained some things to me about our new unit. The techs were very friendly, showed up at the time they told us they would, and they cut a new hole in the wall for a new vent and cleaned up after themselves, I was very impressed with that. Thanks guys for a great job!

I live in middle tn, I wanted to install a central heat and air system for my mom for Christmas, I searched the internet for contractors in Johnson City and got quotes from 5 contractors. Barry Heating gave me the best quote. I dealt with Bill at Barry Heating and he seemed to be very knowledgable and very straight forward. He started and finished the job exactly as he promised. I drove up the following day after completion and I was extremely pleased with the quality of the work. I would recommend Bill (Barry Heating) to anyone. When we installed a new system last year Mr.Barry came out answer all of our question very nice man . He ask me what i wanted not told me what i needed (like the three other guys did) Very happy with the new system !!!

We just got home from a week long vaction when we walk into our home it was 92 inside the house . The A/C wasnt working and it was on a Saturday so we called Barry's the service tech was there within a hour took care of the problem and didnt charge us the overtime rate . They won us over with there great service

AVOID BARRY"S HEATING AND AIR. They came out glanced in our unit and told us it was running a lot because it was very cold outside. Couple of months later it, after continous problems, I called another company to come out who immediately saw the problem when opening the unit. Unfortunately my warrenty EXPIRED during this time. Had Barry's taken care of it, it wouldn't have cost me dime, but since he didn't I had to pay for an entire new unit! The problem was pretty obvious to the other company, why couldn't they see it? But here's the kicker - I had never received a bill from Barry's. I assumed that since they did nothing that they hadn't bothered billing out of courtesy. Not so, they had billed but they had my contact information wrong. Much later, I'm contacted by a COLLECTION AGENCY! I tried to contact owner to discuss what had happened and he has never returned my call. Very disreputable and unprofessional.

Barry Heating & Air Conditioning upgraded a 3 ton unit (upstairs attic area) on 6/16/11. Due to improper installation, the unit stopped cooling the same evening and froze up. The next day I called their office and reported the unit was not working. A service tech came the same day. He stated that the new unit had frozen up because of in -adequate coolant amount . The tech advised the unit would have to defrost overnight. After waiting two days in 90 degree temperatures, the techs came and corrected the problem. Approximately one week later we noticed that water had leaked through the ceiling in our bedroom below this unit. My wife immediately called Barry's and they sent a tech out within a short time. He advised the catch pan had overflown and that everything was dry and the unit was working properly. He said he would tell Frank about the ceiling damages and Frank would send someone to repair the ceiling. We have made numerous calls to their office. No response! 7/8/11.

The first time we used our AC, it flooded out our ceiling as they forgot to glue the drain lines. The next year the drain line backing up (not clogged, just not draining), this flooded the drip pans, then overflowed and ruined another ceiling and wall. Not once did the shut off switch work. Called for service, they would come out, suck the line dry and leave. The line would again fill up with water, and then overflow again. After 4 recalls for the same problem, they stopped returning my calls and I had to shut the units off. So for 3 weeks we sat in our house at 96 degrees calling them to come fix the units. They would say someone would be out and they never show. Finally, I called another company. They found the units were installed improperly, they fixed the problem and replaced the faulty shut off switches. Barry's company keep putting a band aid on the problem and never addressing the real problem of their poor installation. I would never recommend them.
