I taught at a school in this district a few years ago. They were trying to get the district up to par, but didn't have the parents of the community on board. If the parents aren't sold on improvement, you are wasting your time. Education really isn't a big deal in these parts (Holly Hill, Vance and Cross). Working in a factory or being a truck driver is a what most people kids talk about as future professions. If you work at a school or for the government, you're treated like a super star. High poverty = no ambition. The district/area is STUCK! in ignorance!!!

Can't believe the South Carolina State Department of Education has not taken over Orangeburg Consolidated School District Three yet ?!?

I am OVERJOYED that I no longer teach in the Orangeburg Consolidated THREE School District. The behavior of the students is HORRIFIC. I was physically and verbally attacked by students and NOTHING was done about it!!!!! Teachers are not supported by the administration and are treated like second class citizens. I now teach in a different school district. I have the respect and support that I need from parents and administration. I AM SOOOO HAPPY NOW!

I worked in Orangeburg Consolidated School District THREE for several years. It was the worst experience of my life! I pray everyday for the individuals who are "stuck" their to make ends meet.
