Recently, I am not pleased at all with the quality of service as well as quality of food at Morgan's Place. The food... (More) Recently, I am not pleased at all with the quality of service as well as quality of food at Morgan's Place. The food is mediocre at best and after paying above average prices for such faire, I walk out of this dark, dank, depressing, smoke filled tavern feeling totally ripped off. I also seriously question the legality of how they can maintain legal smoking in a room that serves food to the VAST majority of their patrons. With the exception to the male bartender, anyone else tending bar is rude and incompetent. This place has really gone down hill over the last couple years with only poor management to blame. Morgan's Place has regressed to the typical neighborhood dive and seems to be comfortable in this standing. (Hide)

(More) I went to Morgan's Place for my first visit on Thursday evening, April 5, 2007. My dinner date had boasted that your steaks are great, so I was anticipating a great meal. Little did I know that I would get so much more. Upon my arrival into the bar area here comes Scottie Kuhn to give me a big hug, OMG I love him! He is one of the nicest people I know, I used to work with him at The Gingerbread Man years ago.
Everything about the evening surpassed my expectations, the entertainment was great, the food was excellent, and the staff made me feel quite comfortable.
To top it off was my visit to the ladies room. I think it is the first time ever that I went to a rest room where the DOORS OPEN OUT!!! I am not a big woman (5'4" 105 lbs.) but when you have on a winter coat and a purse to handle it just makes so much more sense to have the doors open out.
I almost forgot about the jukebox. I was trying to think of a song for the Jazz duo to play so I went to see if it was listed on the play list. One of the servers was passing by and she offered to assist me in finding it. You have a very good team of employees that you should be proud of.
I had a superb evening and I wanted to thank you for the attention to detail that you display in every aspect of your establishment.
