About EASTCONN The mission of EASTCONN is to work in partnership with schools and communities to develop, provide and support cost-effective education and training opportunities for learners. EASTCONN, one of six Regional Educational Service Centers (RESCs) in Connecticut, has been serving the educational and training needs of schools, organizations, and individuals of all ages in Northeastern Connecticut since 1980. To meet these ever-changing needs, EASTCONN offers a broad scope of programs and services. Although the audience for programs and services may vary from children and teachers to organizations and individuals, EASTCONN's mission remains clear in each of our offerings -- learning is a lifelong journey and EASTCONN is the road to success. From facilitating teacher, staff and organizational development, giving parents and educators the skills and support they need, providing services to children, helping people find the path to successful employability, to providing opportunities for an individual's personal enrichment, where there is a need and desire to learn -- EASTCONN is there. EASTCONN's 375 employees work closely with 36 Board of Education and towns in Northeastern Connecticut. Headquartered in Hampton, EASTCONN operates eight satellite offices and a fleet of approximately 95 transportation vehicles throughout the region and offers many of its programs in other locations. BELIEFS Education creates and expands opportunities. Lifelong learning is critical to an individual's success. Every person has worth and deserves respect. Individuals work and learn best in a nurturing environment. Sharing knowledge and information is critical to organizational effectiveness. Organizational excellence depends on continuous improvement. An effective organization is diverse in perspective, culture and experience. Managing change is fundamental to organizational success. Regional collaboration is essential for optimizing opportunities in northeast Connecticut. VISION When the vision of EASTCONN is realized, schools and communities will collaborate effectively to provide opportunities for learners of all ages. All community members will have expanded choices as a result of higher levels of learning and training. EASTCONN employees will consistently anticipate and meet the changing needs of schools and communities. As lifelong learners ourselves, we will continually increase our skills, particularly those that contribute to greater teamwork and problem solving. Open communication and the inclusion of diverse perspectives will drive decision-making, which will be based on the broadest available data. We will be valued for the originality of our leadership and the quality of our service.
