LOCATION: Haltom City is located northeast of and adjacent to the City of Fort Worth in the North Central Texas Metroplex. The sixteen-county extended Dallas/ Fort Worth metropolitan area has a population of over five million, according to the 2000 Census. ACCESS: Haltom City is a 20-minute drive from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. Alliance Airport is approximately 11 miles northwest of Haltom City. Haltom City is surrounded by modern highway systems which provide vehicular access to the entire nation. Traversing the city are Interstate 820, S.H. 121 (Airport Freeway), U.S. Highway 377, and S.H.26. Interstate-35W is less than 1 mile to the west. Haltom City is served by three rail lines, Union Pacific, Trinity Railway Express and Fort Worth and Western. Also, the Trinity Rail Express, a commuter train, and the Tarantula, a sight seeing train, go through Haltom City.
