Anthony DeFranco is the co-owner, manager and stylist for the DeFranco Spagnolo Salon/Day Spa in Great Neck, New York. Beginning his career in 1974, Anthony DeFranco started as a top assistant to the legendary Peter Coppola, famed hairdresser to the stars, and continued to rise in the beauty industry throughout the decade earning key positions at top salons. By 1980, along with his partner Rene Spagnolo, Mr. DeFranco purchased Peter Coppola's, Peter's Place/Salon Esthetique, and properly renamed it the DeFranco Spagnolo Salon.
Wanting to create a truly unique and luxurious atmosphere for his clients, Mr. DeFranco decided to add a modern day spa hideaway, creating the DeFranco Spagnolo Salon/Day Spa. A true departure from the Peter's Place of yesteryear, the establishment boasts an expert staff renowned in their specialized fields from hair coloring to Swedish massages, and offers the finest European hair and skincare products.
Highly respected in the fashion and beauty world in New York and abroad, Mr. DeFranco travels frequently to attend and teach seminars, and he guest lectures at Intercoiffure, a prestigious organization of the top 2200 salons worldwide. In addition, Mr. DeFranco's work has been featured in national Revlon ads, as well as on the pages of Modern Salon, Salon News and Passion magazine.
Mr. DeFranco continues to service his strong following on the gold coast of Long Island and has been recognized as a community leader in the battle against Breast Cancer.
Rene' Spagnolo is the Aritistic Director, designer and co-owner of the DeFranco Spagnolo Salon/Day Spa in Great Neck, New York. Beginning his career as a hairdresser over 36 years ago, Rene' Spagnolo arrived in North America from Tunisia, North Africa to attend the Vidal Sasoon Academy in Canada. Upon graduation, Mr. Spagnolo landed a spectacular position in Manhattan working directly with Paul McGregor, creator of Jane Fonda's famous "shag". Creating a buzz and gaining exposure in New York City, Mr. Spagnolo worked with hairstyling greats for over six years before landing at Peter Coppola's, Peter's Place in Great Neck, New York where he would soon make his permanent home.
In 1980, along with his partner Anthony DeFranco, Mr. Spagnolo purchased Peter's Place/Salon Esthetique and properly renamed it the DeFranco Spagnolo Salon. Adding some European flair and the tranquil upstairs day spa in 1995, the new DeFranco Spagnolo Salon/Day Spa offered the highest caliber treatments and the most progressive services from around the world and continues to do so today. Mr. Spagnolo personally cultivated and trained his talented and professional staff to ensure their expert services to a very discriminating clientele.
Highly respected in the fashion and beauty world from New York to France, Mr. Spagnolo travels frequently to Paris France for the Pret A Porter seasonal shows and coordinates hair and fashion shows for Intercoiffure and for high profile companies including Schwarzkopf, Graham Webb and Clairol. In addition, Mr. Spagnolo's successful photo shoots have landed his "dos" on the pages of Modern Salon and Salon News magazines and has allowed him to work with famed photographers such as Kevin Mazur and Michael Watts.
Mr. Spagnolo continues to service his strong following on the gold coast of Long Island and has been recognized as a community leader in the battle against AIDS and Breast Cancer.
