If there was a way to rate a restaurant a negative one star this restaurant would get it. Came in. Directed to seat ourselves. About 20 tables in the place...5 occupied. Waitress brought menus. Never came back after 20 minutes. Party of 6 that was there when we came in got up and left after only having received their drinks. After 10 more minutes we left also. Clean, nice atmosphere....lights are on...nobody home.

This restaurant is great! I do agree the service needs an overhaul. Besides, if you have good company with you, who cares about the laziness of the waitstaff. If you are a real foodie, you have to try this place. My friends and I always stop there when we go to Grand Isle. Everytime we try something new, and we have loved everything we've eaten there. The scallops, duck, steak, calamari, shrimp, well you get the point! The desserts are all made in house, and are also worth trying if you have the room! The shrimp cream pasta and broiled seafood platter are two of my favorites. What I really love about this place is that the chefs truely cater to the customer. I wanted a sauce to go with my grilled tuna, and the chef whipped up a creole mustard sauce that was out of this world. Also, if you have diet restrictions or alergies, the chef will cook your food seperately and to your specifications. Like I said, who cares about underpar wait staff, the chef makes up for it!!

I don't know what's wrong with that other guy, but the food is always delicious and mouth watering. The boneless stuffed duck is to die for. I haven't found anything that I didn't like from this place. The calamari app was ravaging my taste buds. The bread pudding with white chocolate is the topping on the cake.

The freshest seafood... scallops that are huge and cooked as they should be.Steaks that are delicious and tender. Good tips..oysters or shrimp Ferblanc (white fire),roasted boneless duck....the seafood crepes are fantastic.... Asian calamari imes amberjack or mahi-mahi done just right. Cafe Oceana has an extensive menu, with specials on the weekends Chef Jacob only buys LIVE soft-shelled crabs so I find it's hit or miss when he can get them.Check the HUGE mounted speckled trout in the bar ..this is a new restaurant,so be a little patient with the service because sometimes it's crowded on the weekends. Abita beer in kegs. Good wine and drinks. Ever hear of cucumber vodka? This ain't no roadhouse food. On your way to Grand Isle? check it out
