I have been there many time for myself and my 10 year old autistic son. I love Dr. Allouch. He is great with my son and gave him the best eye exam since we had to go to MUSC for his eye surgery when he was 2. I have always gotten my sons glasses from there and after Dr.Allouch came, he became my eye doctor too. I do agree that the receptioist, both of them, do have snappy attitudes. They need a class from Miss Manners! They will always straighten out bent frames or replace broken nose pieces quickly. I just won't go anywhere else.

I thought I had left bad front desk people at my old optometrist but I guess not. I like Tidewater alot but this recepionist gave me attitude and I stood there waiting on her (instead of her waiting on me) to service me. She was on the company phone arguing with some guy about her kids in front of a room full of people who clearly saw she had a bad attitude as well and not being professional. When she finally got to me about ordering my lense and frames, I let her slide. When she forgot to break my insurance, lense and frame costs down to me, she got an attitude telling me she did. Another nice patient lady took care of me and I was out in 5mins. where it took her 30min with attitude. They need better receptionists. But its a great place though.

My visit to Tidewater vision Center was extremely awful. I went there for my yearly checkup. Dr. Allouch refused to give me a new prescription after examining my eyes and fitting me for contacts . He told me that I could have a trial pair of air optix contacts. After the assistant put them in my eyes she came back to place an order for the contacts. I told her that I was not prepared to buy contacts today and that I buy my contacts at Sams. She told me that the only way I can keep the trial pair contacts in my eyes is to purchase contacts from them that day. I refused, so the doctor told her to tell me to take the contacts out of my eyes and return them. I returned them and they gave me my old contacts back. I paid $65.00 for the service and was denied the request for the air optix prescription, because I didn't order contacts. He wrote a prescription for the old brand of contacts. Beware he will problem give those contacts to someone else. He doesn't value his patients. DISAPPOINTED
