Florence Savings Bank: "Excellent rates and incredible service". That's what they advertise. Sure, when I went in to start the process for refinance last year, I got a big smile and a handshake and someone very willing to talk to us about our needs. But following our appraisal, when it turned out the value in our home had dropped, putting us below the 80% equity mark, did our smiling, hand-shaking, friendly mortgage loan officer call us to discuss? No. Did we experience "incredible" service"? No. All we got was a very short auto-generated letter telling us we were denied. No follow up. No nothing. That's not my definition of "incredible service". They're not bad, they're just not that great. Despite their marketing campaign to convince the public of their small-bankness, the reality is, they are just like any big bank out there. You're just a number.
