i worry that the lady in Prairie Grove may have been at the wrong facility. I have personal experience with North Hills Life Care and Rehab and would recommend it to anyone that needed services. There is no truth to the post this lady made. Please note how these are mostly subjective comments. NHLCR accepts patients under a skilled need. Meaning, they were admitted to NHLCR after at least a 3 midnight hospital stay. Some examples would be a fractured hip, hip replacement, post heart attack, pneumonia, CVA, etc. Due to the general age of patients accepted (usually 65-80+) and the reason for admission, it is not unlikely that they may need to return to the hospital at a later date for continued/new acute care reasons. This facility incorporates many interventions so that the risk of falls is greatly reduced..this includes very frequent monitoring of patients. It is a wonderful facility and I would recommend it to anyone! I do agree on one point with her, do your research always!

This nursing home gave my mother such bad care that she ended up in the hospital twice in 7 months, this last time for almost 2 months now with a stage 4 bed wound (trust me that is bad - look it up on the internet and see the pictures and they are accurate). This home is owned by Reliance Health Care and has homes all over Arkansas including in the NWA area The Maples, Windcrest and Westwood. Only admit people who are lucid, can direct their own care and are ambulatory enough to get in and out of a wheelchair on their own, otherwise don't send a loved one here. They didn't re-position her, let her get dehydrated and malnourished, unplugged the bed alarm so when she fell they didn't find her right away, and many, many other things to cause her harm. I am doing what I can for this to NOT happen to any other family again. If you are facing this situation in your life - get informed. Get on Medicare.gov and compare nursing homes, buy books on the subject, call the office of long term care, prepare to have to do whatever you have to, to protect the loved one you are being forced by circumstances to place in this position. Go to memberofthefamily.net and check the situation out. This is a heartbreaking situation to be in, and I pray that your experience will be better than mine has so far.
