First-classBetter than mostAbout what I expectedNot the worst...Disappointing

My kids go to this "daycare" and I've really seen some things here. There is a child who has a hard time being left in the morning and the Assistant director Stephanie and the cook Kelly really go out of their way to make this child and the mother feel comfortable, every single day they can. But, the director, Christina and the front desk lady Dana (I believe is her name) seem to go out of their way to make this child and the mother feel very uncomfortable and like they are a burden. I heard the director saying she can't wait to have that child out of the school because he is bad (in front of the child) and the front desk lady told the mother, she doesn't have time to give the child special privileges or treatment. These two people make this place absolutely horrible, to say the least! My heart truly goes out to that mother as you can see the worry and hurt in her face. The ONLY reason my kids are there is because, they're older and have been there for years. Please, if you can afford better, do it!! This place is terrible because of those women. I'm sure the staff can 2nd that!! And... I only put one star because of the other staff members and because I had to rate them something.

My child had an accident which required er assistance and the teacher was trying to fix it with peroxide. with the accident my child was in the hospital for 5 days and when I wanted questions answered after discharged the director had not seen the video and even though showed caring I was very unsatisfied in the handle of an accident. there is a policy the teacher was validating and my child almost lost vision in his eye because of it and all they got was in trouble. And recently the new staff is rule , unhappy, an unprofessional. I cannot even get greeted at time because the staff is having their moments. My child even comes home asking why some of the staff have so much writing on their skin (tattoos.) All this is very rest maybe within the last 4 months. Not all staff fall in the category but you never now who will be watching your child. I have even stopped teacher from screaming with frustration to kids that are not mine. It was a 5 start but it took less the a year to be a 0 star

I came in for a tour to get some more information on the center since the website had old information, it's December and the calendars are from September, that should have been my first clue. When I walked in the staff at the desk not only looked unprofessional but seemed displeased that I asked for a tour. As I walked around and saw the teachers they didn't seem to really want to be there. The school looked old and run down inside and the outside didn't look much better. I was shown the playgrounds but they didn't seem to have much equipment for children to play, it appears they have a pool but it looked disgusting and I would never allow my children in that. As I concluded my tour with which I wasn't too pleased, and approached the doors to leave I hear the blonde woman at the desk yelling at a child, I wanted to say something to her but by this point I was ready to leave and go look for another center for my children. If I were to leave my kids here I would be a wreck all day

Hamilton Academy is a daycare that although has been around for many years is still just that a daycare or other wise known as a baby sitting service. There has been a high teacher turn over rate and the teachers that are there seem unhappy which is reflected back onto the children. The director is rude and unprofessional, my child has been sick and no one informed me until I picked them up and only then was told that they couldn't come back without a dr note. I found another school which might cost a little bit more but how do you put a price on your child's safety and claim to be on some food assistance program but from what I can tell there is a lack of nutrition and variety in the foods being offered. I even referred a friend of mine that was having a difficult time finding a daycare to pick up at her sons school and when she came in the front desk staff was rude to her. If you want a babysitter then bring them there otherwise find a real center.

This school has a completely different feel than it used to. It used to have a warm and welcoming feel. It seems like to can walk through the building and feel the tension between everybody. I also don't like the fact that there is absolutely no variety in the menu. Every day it seems like those poor kids are give cheese and peanut butter. That is just not healthy even though they claim it is on the "food program". All of that being said, you can tell that they do care about they children they encounter. There are definitely some people there that good asset to children's lives.

All of my 3 children have been attending Hamilton Academy. The teachers are loving and caring. I have never had any complaints on any teachers. I recommend this school to everyone.

My two oldest went here and are both in excelled classes in the CFB district. Now my youngest attends and the teachers are so loving. He gets lots of hugs and brings home work that isn't just photo copied. I like that extra touch.

My daughter went to this school during the summer between her 2nd and 3rd grade year. The 2nd week, she was sent home due to a low grade fever. I took her to the doc, and he diagnosed her with heat exhaustion! I spoke to the teacher and directer and informed them to please watch her water intake so this doesn't happen again. A month later, they sent her home again with a low grade fever, and according to the doctor, she was again suffering from heat exhaustion!!!! When I asked my daughter what happen, she informed me that during the school field trip at the local zoo, my daughter was not given a water bottle but had to go to the teacher and ask for a drink. When she was on the bus, my daughter asked for a drink but the teacher would not allow her to have any because of school rules. (school rules be darned - its triple digits, give the kids water) and when I confronted the director a 2nd time, she claimed that my doctor misdiagnosed that it wasn't heat exhaustion. Be careful!

Be careful of what you don't see. I went in at different times when my child's teacher was not expecting me and found many things wrong. Teachers on cell phones not watching the kids, age groups that should not be together and not being called when my child was ill. We only lasted three weeks! We are now down the street in a great christian school

I LOVE this school! My son is now in second grade (DISD) and went to Hamilton for pre-k (after a horrible, cold, and defining experience at the nearby Brilliance Academy) and Kindergarten (with the amazing Mrs. Borden whom has over 25 years of exp teaching, and is just awesome with the kids!)and no school before, or after, has been able to offer what Hamilton does: 1. Show love and respect for the kids, guidance and positive reinforcement vs. scary, loud, military-style discipline (there seems to be an ideal in education that mean intimidation of kids, even young ones, equates to effective 'control' of). 2. Hamilton Academy also offers hands on learning, including sensory, with modern applications (computers), which makes their teaching styles effective and the teachers are in tune with each student. 3. They are also especially and compassionately adept at helping and caring for students that are disabled or may have learning challenges.
