I have been a customer for 15 years. I have ordered numerous orthotics and shoes and compression stockings from here. Recently l had an order from the VA for 2 pairs of shoes. I go there and a nice enough young lady asked what kind of shoe i wanted and I said I need a soft insert. She then said that the klogs tie shoe with a zipper was good. So I tried them on and they were great. I left and she called a week later stating that those shoes were discontinued. I went back in and she suggested loader style. I said I don't do well with those as my feet slide too much. She said try them on which I did and without walking too far they were acceptable. However, after wearing to work and while on my shift I had to take them off as I was sliding too far forward and my foot was hitting the front. I then called immediately after my shift 3 times in 3 days and left messages in the general mailbox. No return call so I showed up to exchange. We exchanged one pair as they had not been worn yet. The other pair was worn one day at work and Althea said she could try and fix it but I did not feel comfortable and wanted another pair and she said no. I asked her if she was sure and to reconsider and she said no. I felt she should have been more accommodating and it also feels she did not believe that I called 3 times and left messages as they were not put on my record but they are not very organized with their records as I saw when I was on there waiting for her to find my record for 10 plus minutes. Like I said I was completely happy prior but felt Althea should've handled this case differently ..... Will not go back again

This company needs to revisit the ideals of customer service. When I called inquiring on filling my prescription, the woman I spoke with was extremely rude. I proceeded to the store assuming I just got a grumpy receptionist. Unfortunately, I was appalled by the service I received. I found the staff to extremely unpleasant and unprofessional. I would never return to this store and would recommend to anyone else to go elsewhere.

I've dealt with foot problems for the last 15 years and I never thought that I could find a comfortable shoe without it looking orthopedic. In fact I've been avoiding the issue for so long that I'm sure I've only made things worse for my aching feet. But my friend told me about Althea's and after I got up the nerve to actually walk into the store, I was pleasantly surprised. Not only did they pay attention to all my needs, they even found me a pair of shoes that looked 'normal' and on top of everything else, the young man helping me actually saved me from buying a few other things that I thought I needed. It's been over a month now and I still feel like I'm walking on air. Thanks for all your help.

This is not your ordinary shoe store. I started going here year's ago because I have an unusual shoe size, but the store also specialized in customers with medical problems. It can take a while to get someone to help, but that is because the average service time is about 45 minutes. When it is your turn the staff pays careful attention to your measurements, how you walk, and your taste in shoes. They will not let you leave with a pair of shoes, unless they know you will be comfortable. They also service their shoes until they're convinced you have had all the wear you can get from that shoe. Personally, the last few years has been the only time in my life when I can get up and have more than one or two choices for shoes in the morning. It may not seem like much, but when you've gone through your life wearing mostly men's shoes, it is a big deal. We're fortunate to have this store in our area.

I have done business with Althea's in the past and received GREAT customer service. But it seems that a lot can change in a few years. Being in the unfortunate posiiton of having to require their services again, I called today and spoke to a women who was rather rude. I would have never thought that getting a prescription filled would take a week. Yet another pharmacy has the item in stock. I elected to take my business elsewhere, but had the courtesy to call and let them know, so that I would not waste thier time. That short conversation was just as unpleasent with a young man. What has happened to Customer Service? This was very disappointing after the good previous experiences that I had had with Althea's.

This is a family owned business with a store located in downtown Everett. If you are local, before shopping online you may want to check them out. They are competitively priced, i.e. I was looking for Brook's Beast 9. Online you can find them between $110-130. RoadRunnerSports sells them for $121.99. The same price I paid at Althea's. So between S&H and WA state tax, it's a wash. The added bonus of course is that you get to talk to somebody who's a professional and can help you find the best fit. They also carry a great line of European manufactured footwear to dress and relax. I am very happy ... thumbs up.TO, Everett, WA.

I did not know there was a shoe store at their downtown Everett location. but my attention was drawn by a sidewalk sale, so I stopped and shopped. I was extremely surprised and pleased with the excellent assistance provided by the owner, Althea, and her friendly, professional, knowledgeable sales staff. Althea measured my foot and assisted me in finding the extra wide shoes I need. I bought 2 pair and will return to that store for all my future shoe needs.

Shoes are great. Staff is knowledgeable. I have taken many friends with foot problems there.

They have helped many people be more comfortable, mobile and stable.
