A Sacred Moment is a unique funeral service empowering families and friends to honor the passing of a loved one through a home funeral vigil, green burial or life celebration service. During the tender time of a loved one's death, families receive the support to create a service that is as special as the life lived. They create the opening for a sacred moment to emerge.Life is full of sacred moments. In our fast-paced lives, we often miss them - and usually at a time when we most need to find meaning. During a loss, family and friends may have difficulty creating a meaningful way to say goodbye and honor their loved one's death. Yet families commonly encounter a deeper healing when they are engaged in the funeral experience. This is why Char Barrett, founder of A Sacred Moment, created services to support and educate families, friends, caregivers and communities about significant life transitions. A Sacred Moment provides:Home Funeral Vigils - also known as at-home funerals, in-home funerals, family-directed home funerals, home-based funerals, or wakes. A loved one's body remains at home (or is brought back home) following death for a period of time prior to burial or cremation.Green Burials - also known as natural burials, eco-friendly burials, and earth-friendly funerals. A green burial simply involves an unembalmed body, a biodegradable container, and a vaultless grave.Life Celebrations - also known as a memorial service, celebration of life, living memorial, funeral, or graveside service. A life celebration is a service that honors and reflects the character, personality, and history of a life well lived.Educational Workshops & Trainings - we offer various educational workshops, including three-hour introduction, one-day general overview, or three-day intensive home funeral and green burial training.Keynote Speaking & Presentations - education and awareness are key to providing quality end-of-life choices for families. A Sacred Moment offers fee-based and pro bono keynote speaking and presentations for a variety of organizations.Other funeral related services- we offer alternative approaches to funerals that fit your lifestyle. We also provide women-supporting-women services and support for families experiencing the loss of a pet, including memorial services.
