A new restaurant is coming to Erie this fall, and will be located in the recently finished Harley Davidson complex on W 12th. " Road Runners" will be undergoing construction this month, and is scheduled to be open in early October. The eatery will be motorcycle themed, and designed for family enjoyment. Partners Terry Sedney and Steve Lewis said the restaurant has been in the planning and drawing stage for several months and are delighted the opening is now in sight. Susan and Kelly Lapping, the owners of the Harley Davidson franchise, said they were approached by a number of local and regional restaurant operators before selecting the Sedney/Lewis partnership. "Their experience and track record convinced us to go this was," Kelly said. The Sedney family has operated restaurants in Erie for nearly three decades, and Lewis is one or the area's better know builder/contractors. Tim Sedney said homemade soup will be one of the location's menu highlights. "Our chef at "Road Runners" has wide culinary skills, but patrons just rave about his soup concoctions," he said. "We will also feature a 1/2 lb. Road Runner burger, a 1/2 lb. barbecue pork sandwich and a truly unique bar feature. Sedney said customers will be able to custom design their own Bloody Marys.
