The Kraus Dept Store has been an absolute Godsend to our family. The store offers a variety of items that are not only essential to home needs but there is a variety of unique as well as things thought to obsolete at your fingertips. Why run around wasting time and gas going all the way to Kearsarge, Pa when Kraus convenience is centrally located. There have been times while remodeling out 100 year old home we were at a loss looking for a fixture, fitting or even a little light bulb when viola, Kraus was literally at our fingertips. With the superb and knowledgeable service provided along with excellent hours it just makes sense to shop there. They have really cool candy, and even the convenience of a post office, baby items (bonnets & christening gowns). Need a lampshade then take your lamp along with you for the best fit. Take out advice, you'll be a happy camper, literally.

I can't tell you how many times I was looking for an item, and the local business said they don't carry it. They then told me to try Kraus', and bingo, Kraus had it. None of the local plumbing stores had the faucet caps I needed, but Kraus did. No one had the furnace pipe my Dad needed, and Kraus ordered it. One of Mom's tiffany globes broke on her chandilier, and unfortunately the company discontinued that globe, Kraus hand painted a globe for her. They also rent about anything you need, and can fill your propane grill tank. They custom cut room darkening shades for my wife, and attached pull cords. This store is so unique, a person could spend hours going up and down the aisles looking at things no one else carries. I hope this store never goes out of business, as it can never be replaced. I highly recomend this store to everyone. Did I mention it is a family business. Everyone is so friendly and helpful, and you're treated wonderfully. I love this store, and you will too.

Took my mother in law in as she knew they'd have what she was looking for- a folding steel cart. I was amazed at the variety of items available, and found some brass couplings in the plumbing section I purchased. What a great store with a unique personality!

krause Dept. Store is one of the last locally owned, family owned long term businesses here in Erie. They do their best to help the customer. That's what keeps the cycle going. Why not take advantage of their "old fashioned" friendly service and keep them in business for us for years to come? I only wish I lived closer so I could stop in for EVERY need. Let them surprise you with what they carry in stock. It's better than running into the other major stores with the kids that can't help or only know to send you down some isle.Hope Kraus Dept. This is one store that truly has everything you could need or want ! I have purchased many things from here and was never disappointed in the quality of the merchandise. The one thing I really appreciated was the courteous, friendly and knowledgeable help I always received. It can be reached by bus or driving (with ample parking available). I hope they are around for many, many more years.
