Statement of Principles Andrew Jackson Academy emphasizes the academic studies that put the student in touch with the principles of history, literature, language, religion, mathematics, and science through which they are enabled to make sound valid judgments. The Academy also believes that a well trained body compliments an educated mind. Accordingly, it stresses athletics along with academics. We suggest and stress participation in all school functions whenever possible by all of our students. Accreditation Andrew Jackson Academy is a member in good standing of the South Carolina Association of Independent Schools, whose high Accreditation Standards it meets. Andrew Jackson Academy has been accredited by the Accreditation Committee. The new accreditation date was May, 2003. Student Athletics and Activities Student activities are essential to Andrew Jacksons success because they create in the student a sense of belonging and of pride in himself and the Academy. Therefore, the Administration urges all students to participate enthusiastically in extra-curricular events.
