Mission : The mission of the Historical Society of Talbot County is to collect, preserve and interpret materials that document and illustrate the history of Talbot County, Maryland. The Society promotes public interest, understanding and enjoyment of the county's rich heritage in the context of Maryland's Eastern Shore and the Nation. **** Tharpe Antiques 30 S. Washington Street Easton, Maryland 21601 410-820-7525 Open Tuesday through Sunday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm A specialty consignment shop featuring quality antiques and locally made decorative arts, Tharpe Antiques provides sustainable and steady support to the operations of the Historical Society of Talbot County. It is located in the historic Miss Mary Jenkins House (c. 1790), located directly across the street from the museum in downtown Easton. Consignments are accepted on Tuesdays from 10:00am to 4:00pm and on Saturdays by appointment. Contributions of items for sale in the shop are fully tax-deductible. Proceeds from Tharpe Antiques support the ongoing efforts of the Historical Society of Talbot County to discover and preserve Talbot County's cultural heritage for the present and future benefit of the community. Tharpe Antiques is just one of over 25 antique shops located in Easton, making the town a grand destination for antique collectors of all sorts. Be sure to plan a visit to the area on the first weekend in October for the society's annual Heritage Weekend. *** The Historical Society of Talbot County's campus includes a Museum, three Historic Homes, an Auditorium and Tharpe Antiques Shop. The campus is located in charming downtown Easton, near to shops and restaurants. Ample parking is right next to our buildings. The Museum The Museum presents exhibitions using artifacts, images and stories that reflect the diversity and cultural heritage of the Talbot County community. Museum Hours: January through April: Thursday through Saturday from 10:00am to 4:00pm May through December: Wednesday through Saturday from 10:00am to 4:00pm We can always open any time by advance appointment. The original stained-glass windows and ornate ceiling create uniquely appealing atmosphere in the versatile, multi-purpose facility. Recipient of the 1988 Maryland Historical Trust Preservation Award and a nominee for the A.S.I.D.
