A five star rating for this business. Steve and Sherri Hicks provided one of the best customer service experiences I've ever had. Over a four year time frame they moved my household goods twice, assisting us in downsizing to a smaller place and providing long term storage for some of our furniture and household items. They moved my husband's office as well. A year after the initial move they helped my husband and I go through all our stored items systematically by providing an onsite move to a free standing trailer and then repacked and stored what was left after our "treasure hunt". When we finally left New York this past year (sadly out of their hauling range across the country) they worked with our interstate mover to arrange for accessing our stored goods at my convenience, not theirs. Everything was accounted for down to a solitary bolt Sherri found after the move and mailed to me! Couldn't ask for better service.

Great people to work with. They even found something I had missed in unpacking and returned it to me after they took away the boxes and paper!

The absolute best! Professional, careful and on time. Unlike other movers I have used in Ithaca when Hicks was booked, nothing was "missing" at the end of the job, nothing was broken and the items came in clean. I have used them for very long distance moves, short moves and large single item moves. A mattress got moved with no slush or dirt on it.

These folks are just the best. . . pack well, careful to the nth degree, ask questions when they want to make sure they are following your wishes, pleasant, on time, kept within budget. I have moved a lot (mostly for business) and never, I mean never, have had a better experience. I would highly recommend Hicks and plan to use then whenever I need my household goods and personal "treasures" packed and transported.

Highly recommended. These folks loaded furniture at Kendal at Ithaca, in perfectly horrible weather, and were cheerful and energetic, working to keep things dry as they loaded them. They let us know the day/time they would get to Richmond, Virginia and arrived on time. They were fast and efficient unloading and even made a quick extra stop down the street to unload a desk at our daughter's house. Their charges were also very fair, for what they did. We recently moved from NY to Harrisburg NC. We adjusted our date to use Hicks based on their reputation. The move was flawless. They showed up with a full crew and worked quickly and efficiently. They were prompt on both ends. Couldn't have worked with nicer people. They had to do a few extra stops for us and it was no problem. We hadn't moved in 30 years and forgot how stressful it can be. They helped make it easy for us. Can't say enough about their professionalism. They were also a fun group of people to work with. A great decision on our part. Would not hesitate to recommend them ! My husband and I moved from Lansing, NY to Rochester, NY using Hick's on May 24, 2013. We packed our own stuff, but had them transporting it. I'd never felt like tipping a moving company before. By the time they were done, not only did we feel the 7-person crew (including the owner) deserved a tip, but we added to what we'd been thinking. Of over 150 boxes, multiple desks, and a variety of odds and ends, only a set of small tables got slightly marred in any way. These folks were respectful of us and our property, careful with everything, and helpful. They took apart, moved, and set-up multiple pieces of furniture. Although the load was a bit heavier than they'd estimated, they held the price given. They moved stuff around as we tried to figure out how to place everything and didn't jet out as soon as the last thing was unloaded. They made sure we were happy and didn't need them anymore. Friendly, fun, and efficient. Top notch.

Outstanding service, they moved some antique furniture from Cortland NY to Atlanta, GA. No issues, very professional, courteous and understanding as my wife's father had just passed away. Everything got to us with no issues. I would recommend this company to anyone who asked! GREAT JOB!

I was very impressed with the work that Hick's did when moving my piano. The six men that Hick's sent were very professional, thorough, and careful when moving the piano. They made sure to check the moving route to make sure they would not do any damage to my lawn, hardwood floors, and tile floors. In fact, they took a more difficult route getting the piano in the house in order to avoid having to move the piano over my ceramic tile floor. They also carried the piano as long as possible in the house, instead of letting it roll on the wheels, in order to protect the hardwood floor. They were gentle and took great care in their work. They also used moving boards on the grass to avoid any damage to my lawn. The gentlemen were friendly, conscientious, hard working, and did a spectacular job. I would recommend them to anyone who needs a mover.

We have used their services three times (including moving my elderly mom), and each time the crew was professional, polite, competent, careful, and efficient. They are excellent with specialty items (we moved a piano). Hick's is absolutely the best moving company in the area.
