This is my usual shop for all my pet needs. The staff are nice. You can even let your dogs stroll over the place. Try some of the products and they will be happy to assist you.

Grooming salon is awful!



We went here to get our dogs nails trimmed, and she is a sweet little thing who has never had a problem. I paid for the service by walking up to the counter while they got started on my dog, and when I came back they had her in a muzzle and strapped down so far she could barely move. I couldn't believe it and almost walked out just because of that. Then, she started to whine whine and pull back because she was being manhandled so much, and every time she would they would yell STOP! into her ear, loudly. Eventually, they said "Ok we can't do this", unstrapped her, and told me to go to a vet. I had to get the manager to give me a refund after all this. I went to Petsmart and had no issues with them, so avoid petco AT ALL COSTS!.



As far as the store goes, it's overpriced, dirty (dog pee and feces everywhere, I don't think anyone ever cleans it up), and the staff obviously hates their jobs. Petsmart is still expensive, but it's cheaper than here and the employees actually like animals.

I took my 1.9 lb Yorkie in to Petco in Draper to get a simple hair trim and groom. When I picked up my dog I was told that It took two people who hold him down....... Remembering he is 1.9 lbs. This added a $18 charge to make the grand total $60. When I started to inspect the hair cut I almost started to cry it was so bad. It looked like a 5 year old got a hold of some clippers and started to cut. There were spots all over the dog that were shaved down to the skin then right next to that there was hair that was over an inch long. I told them to leave the head long and they did not. also almost shaved. I talked to the salon manager and she told me that it was because he was such a handfull (1.9lbs) and it took 4 hours to do the haircut. I then talked to the Petco general manager and he kept making excuses for the salon, telling me that it was an art form. but from my perspective it looked like a 5 year olds version of abstract art.

I had absolutely the worst experience at Petco and will never shop there again and will continue to tell others of my time they butchered my dog.
