General Info

The Inn is on the National Register of Historic Places and is a former Maine Governor and Government Senators family home. If you ever saw the the 3 time Golden Globe and 5 time Oscar award winning film The Aviator starring Leonardo De Caprio as Howard Hughes then you will of seen Alan Alda from MASH playing the Senator that was in charge of the Government task force that tried to bring Howard Hughes down in political history. In that film Alan Alda played Senator and also Governor Ralph Owen Brewster and its his home we have so its pretty historic. Our Inn was shown on TV across the USA on HGTV in June 2008 as we were filmed for their show If Walls Could Talk in Oct 2007. Presidents Truman and Taft, 7 Senators that we are aware of and Louis B Mayer founder of MGM Films have all been and stayed here.

Location

The Brewster Inn in Dexter, Maine is just 15 miles off I-95 (View map to the right) Take I-95 North to exit 39 (new exit 157). Go left off the exit and continue straight through the first light. You are now on Rt. 7 North. ? Stay on 7 through Corinna, following the signs carefully. Stay on 7 North to Dexter, which has only one traffic light. Turn left at the light, passing through the downtown area. When the road forks, take the right side up the hill to 37 Zion's Hill Road.

Our 9 guest rooms range from expansive to cozy, and each offers a distinct personality. Some feature Kingsize beds, fireplaces, original wood paneling, window seats and original tile bathrooms. Others offer a view of the gardens or a whirlpool bath for two. One handicapped accessible guestroom is also available. All guest rooms have their own bathrooms, LCD HD cable TV, IPhone docks, AC in season and their own independent heating controls, wi-fi, luxury bathrobes and towels as well as in-room DVD players with movies all available for you to enjoy.
