I have gone to Dr Harmon for over 20 years. The entire staff is professional and helpful at all times. Our animals are like our children to us, and Dr Harmon is always kind and gentle with them. He took care of our first dog for over 18 years, and since her passing, he is our vet for the newest member of our family, Lucy. Highly recommended. Haven't met a more compassionate, experienced doctor like Rick since we moved to the Des Moines area 20 years ago. Wish I had known of him and his staff the first 10 years we were here. Their rates are below any other vet I have used and they work with you on payments if there is a problem. The entire staff is friendly, thorough and professional. Oaks is also the first practice I've taken my pets to that have an answer when I need it. It doesn't take two weeks of tests and thousands of dollars. The majority of the time Dr Rick can look at my dog and know what is wrong. I blamed myself when we had to put one or our dogs down with diabetes, because I didn't see the signs soon enough and act quick enough. I was a mess for months. When I took our other dog in for a check up, Dr Harmon asked how I was doing. I immediately cried and told him how I felt. He assured me there was nothing I could have done, that the outcome would have been the same.
