In business since 1973, Woody's Wheel Works is the premier wheel repair specialist in the Denver metro area. Spoked wheels have many components that can affect the strength and safety of the wheel. We can repair or replace any damaged parts to meet or surpass original OEM specs. From replacing spokes and truing wheels to complete takedown and rebuild to custom colors and rim sizes, Woody's can do it all. At Woody's Wheel Works, we can repair your bent and broken alloy, mag, or wire wheels often at a fraction of the cost of a new wheel. Our expert technicians will restore the wheel to factory specs checking radial run out, lateral runout, and balance to insure the wheel is perfectly straight, so the car rides smoothly. In most cases, the wheel will look like new. The straightening process for a spoked wheel is a multi step process: straighten the rim and then adjust or "true" the wheel. If the rim has a significant bend then the wheel must be unlaced, rim straightened and then relaced and trued. The solution can be modified depending upon the type of application, size of bike/engine, and your skill level and needs. The process involves analyzing and reconfiguring your OEM rim, spokes, nipples and hub. We essentially blueprint your wheel with optimal selected components and lace patterns transforming it into a rugged wheel that works as good as it looks and looks as good as it works. After studying the problem of broken spokes, Woody discovered that it would be possible to strengthen the structure of the wheel by altering the lace pattern so that each spoke was routed as closely as possible to a 90 degree angle between the hub and rim. This allows the most direct transfer of energy through the spoke to the hub and rim. Since this method requires drilling the rim holes to point in a new direction, Woody decided to add to the strength factor by drilling and countersinking the rim to allow for oversized spokes and nipples. Called SUPERSIZING, this process spreads the workload over a larger surface area under the nipple. The net result is the ability to torque the spokes tighter than possible with OEM spokes and nipples making a stronger, more durable wheel. Combine the oversize spokes and nipples with the re-angled lace pattern, and we have a wheel that is guaranteed for a full year against spoke breakage or loosening. Such an important part of the locomotion process deserves the attention of true craftsmen. We are committed to providing our customers with the ultimate in wheel services and products along with superior customer service and satisfaction. Knowledge gathered in our racing endeavors over the years is passed on to our customers in the form of continuing innovation and creativity applied to our daily work. Woody has always had a love for motorcycle racing, #11 was a force to be reckoned with on the track. Although he no longers haunts the circuit on his own bike, he still sponsors racers in several categories. This connection to the track fuels the continuing search for better ways to accomplish the goal, stronger, safer, better.
