On the Streets Homeless SNAP Benefits Approved and waiting on SSID to come. My Social Worker who I gave permission to represent me is doing absolutely nothing I did all the work she is not getting back in touch with me. I talked to DSS Supervisor on Last Friday Mrs Disilva who verified with me that I give patricia Martin Social Worker LPN of Coalition for the Homeless to be my spokesman my rep. She does not notify me at all. She is suppose to let me know at all times what is going on. My NYS Benefit Cards she should have going at the address 600 Albany Avenue Amityville NY 11701 She know I am on the streets without food and she says she has a pantry willing to help me in any way and brought me food 1 from her Pantry in Hempstead Since I agreed for her to be my spokesman he like paying someone before the do the work I writing you because I was referred my this DSS in Coram from a Taxi Driver in Amityville See If you can get her to give me my EBTcards and temporary checks no food motel

By the time I spend trying to get them to fix what they say I lost 3 days pay! Third time trying to fix something they said they were working on. They never no what I am talking about

In my first interview I was told to come back in two weeks and I only needed to bring in my SS card. When I got there the the worker asked for NINE separate items. I showed her the list that I was given two weeks earlier that only had the SS card checked off. She said this was how the system worked. I told her that I called the center after my first interview to be sure I only needed my SS card and they said I only needed whatever was checked off on the sheet. Her supervisor told me the original worker that checked off the SS card wasn't authorized to ask for anything more than that. I HAD to come back in two weeks with all the other stuff. There are forms you need that aren't online. You HAVE to go there to pick them up because if they do happen to answer the phone and tell you they'll mail you one, it NEVER gets to you. And they'll tell you even if you mail in the form it doesn't mean it'll get into your file. IOW you HAVE to go there & stand on line 2 hours to hand it in to someone.

Dss in coram is a terrable center! They have been messing up my paper work since june of 2011....its october now and they keep shutting of my case because of paper work I sent in over and over but to them they claim they don't have, or there is no workers available....my kids have to suffer because dss is not doing there job or they don't care about the people they are suppost to help!
