My sig.other is 100% disabled and while recovering at home after that day's surgery he was having difficulty breathing and a tight chest. His dr's office said to call 911. Trappe Ambulance arrived only to tell him that he was okay and just suffering temporary effects of anesthesia and felt he did not need to go to the ER. They asked if we were ok with their conclusion and we said yes, we would wait several more hours as they recommended to see if the anesthesia wore off. We are paying members of Trappe Amb. and in the past were not billed for a similar visit. The EMTs mentioned nothing of policy change in service fees. We are now being billed $200. for a 20 min. visit, which would have cost us nothing if we would have insisted that my sig.other go to the ER. In the past members had no charge for such home visits. I called Trappe today to be told that policy has changed and EMT visits now have a cost associated even for paying and contributing members. We're upset to say the least
