Jujube is a modern restaurant rooted in the flavors of China and Vietnam, distilled and whimsically refined with western sensibilities. Part of creating an inspired cuisine is getting out of the way and allowing tradition and the beauty of nature to show through, part of it is putting your individual stamp on each dish. Jujube does both by weaving classic Asian dishes along with one-of-a-kind creations born from our hearts into one, eclectic menu. ?Fabulously inventive food, as always, with great ingredients and friendly service. A gem.? ?My wife and I dine at most of the best restaurants in the Triangle. Jujube is in the category if the finest. It is a rare find. I had a oriental duck confit for my main entree ? it was so excellent that I do not recall the rest of the meal. My wife was similarly pleased with her shrimp dish as were our dinner companions. Jujube is now on our list of favorite restaurants ? we will be going back soon.? ??cool atmosphere, good food, reasonable prices. Everything we ate here was delicious.? ?Jujube is truly one of the Triangle?s finest, ranking right up next to Lantern, Four Square, and Pooles in terms of quality and deliciousness. It?s really one of my favorites, as the chefs there never fail to keep things interesting, fun, and as local as they can. If you want to experience a true Triangle winner, make your way over to this unassuming spot in the Glen Lennox shopping center. You won?t be disappointed!? ?My family and I went to Jujube for our third time this week, and we were again reminded how much we like this place. We started the night with a round of drinks?my father was impressed by a fairly extensive beer menu, while the rest of us enjoyed some of their specialty cocktails? Dinner was excellent all around. The curried pork was a deviation from my normal hanger steak with peanut sauce, and I was glad to have tried something new. I thought it was great. Everyone was satisfied with their meals. Desserts were very good as well, although we were so full by the time we left. The portions at this place are really a nice size? Overall, Jujube is an enjoyable restaurant with a lively atmosphere, but cozy enough that you can hear each other talk. The food is consistently good, so we?ll definitely be going back.?

  • As Charlie himself describes it ďThereís something uniquely special about a great meal. Youíre either there for it or youíre not. A piece of art hangs on your wall and you can enjoy it forever. An amazing piece of music can be listened to again and again. But a meal is different, partly because itís not just about the food and drink, itís about the people enjoying it as well. Itís about a memorable sliver of time that canít or wonít be exactly repeated and itís fun to be a part of that

Certification & Affiliations

  • Dos Perros is our answer to what has amounted to a challenging compromise in Mexican cuisine in the Triangle and beyond. One can find a delicious authentic taco by going to a traditional taqueria, but often at the expense of atmosphere waiting in line, eating on a paper plate at a formica table under florescent lights
  • itís simply a step up to a place that can be event dining as much as dining before an event.
  • One of the things we do best here at Jujube is match our cuisine to wine. We do take it quite seriously. Many start by writing a menu and then try to figure out what wines would work best, we think thatís backwards. We start with the wines, taste them, and envision what dish would be best with each. Sometimes itís a matter of noticing some obvious flavors in the wine and looking to mimic those same in a dish. Other times itís trying to fill in some gap that the wine is leaving. Other times still, itís as simple as satisfying an immediate hankering for a particular dish that the wine has inspired. Regardless, I think we do a fine job and have heard as much from the guests who frequent these events. A couple of years ago, we started offering what we call Recession Wine Dinners. In other words, five- course meals paired with value- oriented wines. After all, thereís no need to deny yourself a great dinner out even if youíre trying to watch your budget. All our recession dinners cost $40 plus tax and tip. Of course, not all of our dinners fit this description, and those that do say so in the title. Come on down and check one out for yourself.
  • quaint, but hardly date- night material and often without even a proper margarita. To get a slightly more refined version, the only other option is typically a Southwestern or Tex- Mex- styled restaurant. Itís as if, as soon as effort is put into the design or ambiance, thereís a need to somehow Americanize the food
  • that the rich culinary heritage of Mexico does not produce a noble enough cuisine to be honored by an elevated setting without somehow changing it first. Well, that doesnít need to be the case. At Dos Perros, we honor that rich culinary heritage by serving classic Mexican cuisine alongside a thoughtful beverage program in an updated but warmly styled space. This isnít formal dining
