Artist Alys Caviness-Gober Featured In July Gallery Show The paintings of Alys Caviness-Gober will be featured in a Gallery Show at Gallery 145, in the Hazel Dell Christian Church in Carmel, IN, for the entire month of July 2013 (the Gallery is open daily from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm). Alys is thrilled to have the opportunity to share her work with visitors to Gallery 145. She says, "I paint impressions of a memory, moment, or mood, memories of places that I have been, or an impression of a place that I wish I could see in person, or perhaps a time or a seasonal feeling. Hopefully viewers will like what they see, and feel a positive emotion ~ a peaceful, serene feeling, or perhaps make the viewer dream of distant places or times. As a child, I was diagnosed with an incurable lung disease, so my physical limitations have challenged my life but art has always been a constant. Although I have no formal training in any art genre, I find myself constantly creating: I cannot seem to stop! I live in Noblesville with my husband. Our two children are in college. I have a Masters Degree in Anthropology, but I am an artistic Jack of All Trades. I am a juried photographer with the Hamilton County Artists' Association. Many of my inspirations come from real-life experiences, from traveling to New Orleans, researching Mayan ruins at Chichen Itza, Mexico, and even places I learned about while working on my Masters Thesis on Pre-Christian Irelands Sacred Sites and Place Names. I am also inspired by my love for gardens and flowers, my childhood in Georgia, and life in Indiana." Alys' paintings will be for sale. A few paintings are framed, but most are unframed museum wrapped stretched canvas (ready to frame). Please stop in Gallery 145 any time between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm and take a look!!
