Players, Coaches, and Managers have come from all over the country to provide their knowledge and experiences with the area's young athletes. Our network of people is spread throughout the baseball community. C-Side has connections within the Cal Ripken Youth Organization, surrounding high schools, all divisions of Collegiate, and the professional level - all the way up to Major League Baseball. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- AT THE HEART OF IT ALL, JUST A KID PLAYIN BALL The game of baseball is America's past time. Keyword being game. Baseball is meant to be fun and enjoyed by kids off all ages and talents. The simplicity of the game is what makes it so great. Catch the ball, Throw the ball, Hit the ball. But how can a game that is so simple be so difficult to do successfully? Because this is a game of habits - good ones and bad ones. You must practice techniques over and over and over again until proper mechanics set in. Even then, you can't let up. You must practice consistently to remain sharp because the ball moves fast. To consistently make the routine plays and become an effective hitter, a quality, disciplined practice routine is a necessity. I teach two things at my academy. How to play the game hard and how to play the game right. I focus on simple fundamentals and break these further down into steps. My drills are simple and concentrate on the mechanic being taught that day. These are drills I learned in college and at the professional level. I tell my younger students to get used to them because they'll be doing the same drills throughout college and into the pros. That's because this game is simple, you Catch the ball, Throw the ball, Hit the ball. Chris Sidick
