September 11, 2012 North Willamette Valley Habitat for Humanity announces a donation drive for its second ReStore. Donations will be accepted every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 11:00-3:00. The Canby ReStore will be located at 411 S Redwood St. Canby, OR 97013 and open to the public every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm - grand opening to be announced early October. ReStores provide an outlet for the reuse of materials while encouraging sustainable living, the reduction of waste to the landfill and the building of community by providing a source for affordable home improvement to local residents while supporting Habitats home building program. said Connie Farrier, ReStore Manager, North Willamette Valley Habitat for Humanity. ReStores accept Appliances, Furniture, Doors, Windows, Plumbing, Electrical, Building Materials, Flooring and many other home improvement items. A complete list of acceptable items for donation is available at nwvrestore.org. Donors can make a request online for a free pick up of large donations from the donation page at nwvrestore.org or calling 503.845.4161 and asking for a Donation Coordinator. Homeowners, contractors and businesses that donate items will receive a tax-deductible receipt. About North Willamette Valley Habitat for Humanity Founded with the vision and energy of Ivo Bauman in 1986, North Willamette Valley Habitat for Humanity is the second of 33 affiliates established in Oregon. In the last 25 years, 37 homes have been constructed by volunteers and purchased by local Habitat families: one in Scotts Mills, six in Woodburn, seven in Mt. Angel, 14 in Silverton, three in Gervais, and six in Canby. In addition, NWV Habitat has built 56 homes overseas for a total of over 90 families served!
