The Kingsbridge Heights Community Center, locally known as KHCC, was founded by three neighborhood women and opened in the former 50th Precinct building in 1975. Today we are a growing organization, each year assisting more than 8,000 Bronx residents of all ages, through programs guided by the settlement house model of community development and involvement. Our work is anchored in a detailed knowledge of the people and issues of the Bronx, and local people retain a high level of ownership in what we do. KHCCs mission is to build on the strengths of residents in our diverse community, enabling them to effect change and improve the quality of their own lives and those of their families and their community. We serve young children, youth, families, adults and seniors, providing education, recreation, child care, and clinical services, along with community forums and cultural events. See our website for a full list of programs. KHCC is a member of United Neighborhood Houses of NYC.
