Our staff members are highly trained to recognize animal emergencies, and will ensure that your pet is seen by a Doctor in a timely manner. Emergencies are always given priority in our scheduling, whether you are a new or existing client. We have an intensive care unit to monitor your pet’s condition during hospital hours and offer overnight care at an emergency facility 2 blocks away from our practice for pets that require constant supervision. Our Doctors will help make the decision that is best for your pet. Digital Radiology (or X-rays) are a vital tool in veterinary medicine, used to diagnose orthopedic (bone) as well as soft tissue and internal injuries. Our practice has invested in digital x-ray equipment that uses the latest technology to obtain the best possible results in the shortest amount of time. We are able to transmit the information via the internet to specialists for interpretation if necessary, and provide a copy of the study to our clients on a disc. The x-ray studies are shown to every client and explained thoroughly in language everyone can understand. Our practice is not just about an annual visit to give vaccinations. We believe strongly in wellness programs, individually tailored to each individual pet. Our client care coordinators and nursing staff obtain a complete and detailed history of your pet’s health and any problems. Our doctors will perform a comprehensive physical exam on your pet including a dental, ophthalmic, ear, heart, pulmonary (lungs), abdominal, musculoskeletal, neurologic, pain and skin exam. We use these skills along with diagnostic testing, vaccine titers, and any other necessary tests to determine your pet’s need for a vaccine, and to monitor your pet's health in an attempt to catch problems early. The comprehensive examinations are given to every pet that we see at our hospital. Our doctor will explain the findings and recommend any necessary diagnostic tests to achieve a diagnosis, prognosis, and therapeutic plan for your pet. Dentistry That bad breath you smell every time your pet gives you a big kiss is more than just an irritant to you, it's bacteria in their mouth that gets enters their system and blood stream every day. Dental disease has been proven in studies to affect overall health. Our staff is trained to recognize all of the stages of dental disease in all of the animals that we see. We perform ultrasonic cleanings, polishing, fluoride treatment, periodontal care (gingival scaling), extractions, and dental x-rays. We recommend Oxyfresh treatment for bad breath and plaque control for all cats and dogs, and will show you how to properly brush your pet’s teeth. Sometimes we will recommend a different diet or sealant for your pet’s teeth to help control tarter buildup as well.
