I asked The Gear Movement to sell some top of the line ski equipment for me. All in all, I was really disappointed.



Their turnaround time was quite slow: from the time I dropped off my equipment until the time I received a check for the money I made on the equipment was 6 weeks.



The money they got for the equipment was less than I could have gotten on my own. The skiis (a really nice pair of Atomic betacarvs) were posted on ebay under the "Buy it Now" category, and sold within 5 minutes. I think they would have fetched FAR MORE if The Gear Movement would have sold them in the auction format that ebay is known for. The Buy It Now price was way too low, but nobody at the company ever consulted me prior to posting my equipment on ebay.



When all of my equipment was sold, they took a huge chunk of the money made. (about 40%)



Part of the reason that I used the company was so someone else would sell these things and I could take it off my plate and not worry about it. But, that didn't really happen. It took weeks for them to get the postings up, and I had to call THEM to get updates. Once everything was sold, it took over a week for the check to be sent out in the mail.



At the end of the day, I would have been better off selling everything on Craigslist on my own. I like to support local businesses and like the idea of them working to get me top dollar, but I don't feel that my best interests were part of the equation, and honestly, I felt lost in the shuffle. I wouldn't recommend using them.
