I purchased a dog from harbor pet center almost 8 years ago. He was a Jack Russell. He was 4 months old when I got him. I was naive & never considered any puppy mill situation at the time. Once we got him home we realized he appeared to have never been outside. He was scared to death. Eventually throughout time he became accustomed to a normal dog life. He always had anxiety though. At almost 7 years of age he was diagnosed with a tumor in his nose. He only lived to be 8 years old. We took the best care of him. He was loved, cherished, & wanted. He should've lived a much longer life. This business knowingly sold a dog to make a profit that came from a puppy mill. I will never regret getting him. He was the love of my life. I'll miss him forever. This company caused pain & horrible suffering to a sweet innocent dog for money. The expenses for the dogs vet bills have been in the thousands. I would keep giving thousands just to see him alive again. It's hard to say don't purchase a pet from this place when I know I would do it again & again for the same dog. But by supporting & buying pets from this place, it is just encouraging them to continue using puppy mill dogs. It's not OK. My dog passed away & is no longer in pain. My pain will remain forever. I wish they would shut down but money is more important than lives here in America.

I just had the best experience here. My puppy is healthy, microchipped, and vaccinated. They checked in on me the next day and offered suggestions on how to prepare her food when she would not try it. These people are awesome!!!!

NEVER buy ANY pet from here!
Sold us a ferret that had insulinoma which is a deadly form of cancer in ferrets, it was unknown to us at the time. Now we need to spend hundreds of dollars and hope he can be treated to add a few more years to his life!

TERRIBLE PEOPLE

this place is awful bought a anemone it died a day later was not told there was no gurantee no signs stating no gurantee,went to take it back and the owner was rude and disrespectful treated me like I nor my buisness mattered,was horrible,if somethings not guranteed it should be posted BEFORE you buy it,kids working there dont know about products they sell when you ask questions,but the owners attitude is beyond belief for working with the public! no stars minus stars.but wouldnt post unless i put a star rating

Bought my Pomeranian from here , took her to the vet they work with , his name is Doctor Singh , & got told she was fine . Later that night she began throwing up & seizing so we took her to an animal ER that was closer than the vet & found out that she had kennel cough , knee displacia , a tapeworm , as well as a few other things that caused the seizures . She is one of the sickliest dogs I've ever owned , & I have had quite a few . If you go there for fish , mice , hamsters , etc . You should be fine , but DO NOT buy a puppy or kitten .

I will also add that their vet , Doctor Singh , has been taken to court & sued multiple times & has a continuously rotating staff . Vets do not stay with him long , & when they leave he makes them sign NDA forms . I knew one of his vets very well & even though that person couldn't say anything about the practice or Doctor Singh himself , they did recommend that anyone who cares about their animals stay away from that place .

Just got a very sick dog from there. It is actually younger than they said it was. Plus I have to give it insulin shots for the next 6 months. They told me give it sugar water for one day it would be fine. That didn't work this dog became so sick. I don't know how they stay open. I am done getting dogs from them because the vet bills are outrageous. Plus their vet is whack job.

Harbor pets is a piece of crap! My mom bought a dog that is sick she has over 300 in vet bills and hasn't even had him a week! Harbor pets say they won't pay for anything for the dog. He won't eat she's having to force feed him, he has kennel cough or something like it, he had hyperglycemia and keeps having his sugar drop super low and having to go to the vet before he dies! Harbor pets gives you a agreement that they help with thr vet bills for so many years but because they are wrong they have refuse to pay the vet bills for this dog! The owner is calling my mom a liar and telling her they have *proof* of them giving us drops for the puppies hyperglycemia but they never did!! It's bull crap I have heard so many bad thing about that place and the way they keep the puppies in there can not be safe!!

I love this pet store. The staff was very friendly but not too pushy. I asked to see a puppy and they answered every question we had. They supplied us with adoption registration, all of her paper work from a micro chip, and a complete shot record. They also suggested we used their vet to overlook her after she came home with us. They cover all costs of the vet (other than a 25 dollar copay). She was very healthy according to their vet. They also sent her home with a full bag of her dog food and some medicine to keep her from having diarrhea and upset stomach. Needless to say we will be making the trip up there anytime we feel we are ready for a good pet. Thank you all for your honesty and helpfulness.

I love this store. I have been shopping here for years. I also have gotten 3 dogs and they have been healthy. I shop all my supplies here too. I am always greeted when I come in and everyone is eager to give me assistance.

The pups r from puppie mills ... Do not buy from here please .. One of rhe workers told me after we bought puppy that the breeder they got r pup from was not really a puppy mill but yet close to it.... They told us puppy was nutered he isnt he had kenal cough my ver things he is younger than what they r telling us .. I thought so to before vet told is .. He just didn't seem as ild as they said ...i think the reason was to make him appear smaller as to a tea cup (chihuahua) I have been calling them since i took to vet as they say within the 7 days ... To tell them he wasn NOT neutered but i just keep getting the run around its been almost a month now ... This allot more going on with pup to so @ this point im looking @ taking them to court .. Bc they should not be selling sick dogs and lying about what they had done to them .. Oh ya they say there vet checks puls to when they get them .. But yet no one checked to see this pup was not neutered ...and he would have only been 2months and maybe a few oz when this was said to be done ..there is a vets name on the shot record that says he neutered the pup .. So my vet called him he said no he had never heard of the breeder (shaadow' kennal ) from Bloomfield,IA nore had he ever seen tbis puppy .... So Please please do not buy from here ... The puppies come from puppie mills .. I googled the breeder after i found everything out from my vet ... Puppy mill comes up so we r keeping the pet store's and these puppy mills in bussiness by buying the puppies .. Yes all puppies are Cute!!! But this has to stop its not right ... I wish i would have known what i mnow now i would have never bought a puppie from here .....

We purchased a puppy from them which ended up being food aggressive like it never ate. It started being mean to my other dog and it would fling and play in its feces all over my house. We explained to them our situation they took the puppy back, would not refund us any of our money and the managers were totally ignorant and disrespectful! Not only did they take our money but the get to resell the dog. So they ended up getting double of what the dog was worth. The puppies had no toys they were harassing each other and eatting their own feces. Once a dog starts doing that it's hard to break them from it. I feel so bad taking that puppy back to that horrible place he was so happy here but it was just too much for me or my other dog. The dog started shaking when I took him back and I cried because I knew he didn't want to be there! The long haired puppies were soaked from sweating in those cages.Such a horrible place. They r teaching these dogs to be aggressive towards others by not having no toys and being crammed in a small area. They don't take them outside to use the restroom so it's hard to potty train them and they r so bored they play with their own feces. They are taught to be food aggressive because they don't give them their own area to eat and they feel they have to hurry to eat their food before the other dog does. They need bigger kennels for the bigger dogs! Horrible place. If you have another animal at home they won't give you time to see how they will interact together. They are all about money they do not care for these pets!

Bought our puppy there, and it got kennel cough a week later. Our sales man told us they would cover it even if we did not use their vet (we are not from the area). They refuse to cover it and say the 3 year warrenty is now void since we didn't use their vet. Never ever ever ever ever ever buy there!
