We, citizens of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, moved by a desire to make further and better provision than now exists for the relief, care, medical attendance and treatment of the sick and infirm poor in the county of Columbia, and especially in and about the Town of Bloomsburg, have associated ourselves for the purpose of founding and maintaining a hospital from the Charter for the commission of Bloomsburg Hospital.Bloomsburg Hospital first opened its doors to patients on September 11, 1905, answering a pressing need for health and wellness care in the community. It was originally located on the corner of Fifth and Spruce Streets until 1928 when a state of the art hospital and nursing residence were built on the current site.Since then, Bloomsburg Hospital has undergone three major renovations to continually meet our goal of providing the highest quality care and personal service, while offering you and your family the most advanced technology available.
